Here’s how it looks like:

The venue will be at the Filipinas Heritage Library that’s why the background of the cover is set in a library. The floating books, the textures on the walls and windows, and the old trees in the library were Lois’ interpretation of a fantasy wedding set in an old library.

The bride’s bouquet and the groom’s boutonniere are the actual accessories we’ll be using during the wedding. Both will be custom hand made by the seller using felt cloth. We ordered it from Etsy for a total of $85.

Wedding Invite Preview

I’m a huge comic fan with strong convincing powers. I was able to convince Koi to have a comic-themed invitation for our wedding next year.

We talked to our good friend Lois and she happily agreed to create a comic-themed invitation for our wedding. It will have a wraparound cover and a tear-out RSVP card at the back. The rest of the pages will contain the wedding details, and of course, a mini comic strip about our story. Here’s what Lois has finished so far for the cover page. It looks amazing! You can see her other artwork on her deviantART page.

We are engaged and we are getting married next year at the historical Filipinas Heritage Library in Makati. It will be a small wedding of about 40 guests, most of which are relatives and close friends who have always been there for us for the past years. Follow our wedding preps and other wedding adventures at HazeyPao.

My previous French boss gave it to me when he got back from a meeting in Paris. Its design came from Alphonse Mucha’s beer advertising poster called “Bières de la Meuse” which was printed out during the 1890’s. The woman in the painting looks demure and her adorable curly hair is decorated with different beer ingredients. This coaster looks nice and it’s got a bit of history in it, but I would still have preferred chocolates.

We used to display this bike when we were living in our old apartment but now it’s just part of the clutter piling up in the small room. This replica is too nice to be ignored so we’ll display it again together with our other collectibles when we finally get the time to clean up the place.

Magic Word

Our dogs go nuts whenever they hear the magic words “treat” or “reward”. They would then run over to the refrigerator and patiently wait for us to bring out their cookies. The word “cookie” doesn’t mean anything for them but I think Bruno is now slowly starting to learn what it means.

Here’s what happens when you say “cookie” with a high-pitched voice in front of Bruno.

Cabinets

There are too many cabinets in this apartment. Too many that there’s no more room to hang up picture frames and posters. There’s even one in the bedroom that is oddly placed. It blocks the door to the balcony and it’s so big, we can no longer fit a even a small TV in the bedroom.

The one in the living room is my favorite. It’s where we keep our Playstation, grocery bags, doggie poop bags, old CDs and DVDs, tumblers, and mails. We use it to hang our clothes to dry, and it is where I usually bump my head whenever I clean the house.

Bruno

Meet Bruno, the awesome dog. He’s the big fat brother of Kiko who spends most of his day lying on his bed or on the couch. He hops like a rabbit, jumps like a cat, and runs as fast as a cheetah. It’s amazing how he’s able to to do all these things despite his size. He’s awesome!

Give Bruno a treat!

Kiko

Meet my dog Kiko. He’s the shyest in the litter but he grew up to be a very loving and loyal shih tzu. Every afternoon he would go sunbathing at our small balcony with Bruno. At night, he lies down by the front door waiting for Koi to come home.

Give Kiko a treat!

Wesabe

I really need to start monitoring my earnings and expenses so that I could save some money and avoid overspending at all costs. So I figured maybe I could start by recording everything using a desktop tool or an online service. But I didn’t know where to start and needed advice.

Who else would you ask if you needed such information? The omniscient Google.

I started seeking advice from the omniscient Google and asked if he could find me a simple accounting tool which I can use to record my earnings and expenses. And in just a fraction of a second, he gave me 28 million++ answers! Pretty damn witty, isn’t he?

There’s one answer that caught my attention - Wesabe. I thought that the name was funny so I checked it out.

They provide a solid money management tool plus access to a community of experts that can help you maximize your savings and guide you in solving your financial troubles. They also offer browser plugins and desktop widgets to make your life easier in uploading your transactions to Wesabe.

It was perfect for me. Thank you omniscient Google, I can finally start monitoring my savings. Now it’s up to me to be responsible enough to update my Wesabe account everytime I make any kind of transaction.

If you want to learn more about them, I invite you to visit their site.

I’m sure there are others offering the same kind of service. I’ll probably try them one of these days, but for now, I’m contented with Wesabe.

Lamb Chops

We bought lamb chops today at Rustan’s Supermarket together with some herbs and spices. I’ll be cooking them on new years eve with my mighty grill pan and Koi will be preparing mashed potatoes with sour cream, dill, and some other herbs which names I can’t remember.

Yes, I am ready for this. Thanks to all the lamb chop episodes from the Essence of Emeril show. I knew his tips would be handy someday.

Stay tuned for updates.
